Electronic warfare, large-scale building destruction, environmental mechanics, two new BattleMechs, new enemy units, a new Attack and Defend encounter type, and more flashpoints make the urban sprawl a whole new battlefield. We have also released the Urban Warfare paid expansion. Welcome to BATTLETECH 1.6! This release contains a number of content additions, quality of life improvements, and optimizations, as well as some cool new features. If anyone has better Cyclops-Z builds, please share - I don't know what to do with this thing. I've got a few versions that I'd like someone to take a look at and tell me if they're somewhat okay for getting some kind of firepower out of this thing while using the Battle Comp: I eventually gave up building anything even vaguely long-ranged, and built yet another SRM+ML spammer, although a lot lighter on both of those than my standard Heavy mounting that kind of weaponry, and without the ability to mount a melee Actuator or something. I was fitting out a Cyclops-Z, the one with the Battle Computer, and found that it's got so little free tonnage that after I reinforced the armour to a semi-decent level for an Assault, if a bit thin for a 90-tonner (16-17t), and mounted a full Jump Jet fit, the best I could do was either a really poor man's Awesome (3LLs), or barely more than a light-end Heavy's loadout (2LLs, LRM10 w/1 tonne ammo), or basically a long-range Hunchback (Gauss Rifle w/2 tonne ammo, maybe some MLs if I either thinned out the armour or ripped out a JJ or found a GR+/++ or something). So I've been using the new officially-sanctioned Mech Builder from here to play around with designs, both to tweak things I never got working to my satisfaction and to play with designs that never turned up for me in my last playthrough. Will the DFA Crew reappear? Seemed to hint this may happen in the future Jumping on a building does not cause damage to the building.įalling damage from buildings is not variable based on the height of the building.ĮCM/Sensor Warfare will be shown off on 05/31 stream (hopefully a longer stream) Gallant : It is armed with use some (+) weapons specifically geared toward anti-stability.Īrano Campaign : Not being expanded upon in the DLC as of yet (no mention if Karl Urban will be there.) Urban Maps can appear on any world with a "MegaCity" tag. New Factions coming with UW (no specifics mentioned, but from past streams, Andurian's sound plausible) Some more showing of the new capabilities - including see a drop pod deployed, presenting another member of the team, etc. If a mech is on top of a building and said building is destroyed the mech suffer damage equivalent of the one received if executed DFA - same result independent of the size / height of building No new missions / flashpoints for Arano Restoration What i remember (fast and very incomplete) Urban Warfare will be available to purchase on June 4 th.Summary is in preparation in the Paradox forums. You can read more about it at the expansion’s Steam page, and watch the announce trailer below.īattleTech is available now exclusively for PC, which you can read our take on through here. It will include two brand new BattleMechs, (the Raven 1X and the Javelin), new Flashpoints with branching paths, new enemy vehicles, and Attack and Defend- a new mission type where your mercenaries must destroy an enemy’s base to stop a steady stream of attackers before they can overcome your forces. The expansion will, just as the name implies, put you and your warring machines in the heart of an urban center filled with destructible buildings and various hazards to use in combat, like abandoned fuel trucks or broken down electrical transformers. The game features mechs in turn-based strategy gameplay, and while the base game and previous updates focused on big, wide open spaces, Urban Warfare will take you to the city streets. Focus Home Interactive announced today that a new expansion is coming to Hairebrained Studios’ adaptation of the legendary board game, BattleTech.
